It is not about the money it is the fact that society as well as spelman has lost respect for the profession of teaching and feel that effective pedagogy can be taught through 6 week crash course seminars. Spelman sadly must not value the thousands of effective educators that it has produced over the years that are advocates for change in failing school systems like atlanta public schools. As a graduate of this department I am heart broken. The passion and dedication to children..
